In this interview Ralph Fiennes explains that Lawrence

was on his way back from sending a telegram

to his close friend the writer Henry Williamson

when the crash happened.

Williamson was a Nazi sympathiser in England

at the height of Hitler's rise

to power in Nazi Germany.

Lawrence's popularity declined after 1922

as he spent his time in the lower ranks

of the British forces only to be killed

accidentally before the Second World War,

this interview suggests

that it may not have been

an accident.
